Shop Hand

This position is responsible for performing high quality shop work, field service, and to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner, and to ensure maximum value for work performed.  Additional responsibilities include managing small to large amount of inventory. Candidate must be a hard worker and get used to continuous manual labor and be able to lift heavy objects, up to 100 pounds. The successful candidate must possess effective people skills as well as technical expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    

  • On a daily basis, must be able to repair pumps in a team environment.
  • Self-direct work flow on a regular basis with a limited amount of supervision.
  • Communicate on a daily basis in an effective manner, both written and orally, with customers, and employees in a professional manner in a field service environment.
  • Load delivery trucks with appropriate inventory and pump sizes to deliver to wells in a timely manner while maintaining safe driving skills.
  • Knowledge of the highway and lease road systems of the surrounding area (100 miles of Midland, Texas).
  • Must be able to wear steel toed boots for 8 – 12 hour shifts.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to negotiate through rough terrain.
  • Must be able to negotiate ladders.
  • Must maintain vehicle service as needed and keep vehicle as neat and clean as possible.
  • On a regular basis discuss daily challenges of the job with supervisor.
  • Perform duties on an “on call” basis and after hours as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Education/Experience:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; walk; sit; climb; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is often required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to taste or smell.

Associate may often be required to work in in-climate weather, i.e. extreme heat and/or cold.
