Business/Data Analyst

In the USA, we are represented by 16 locally managed electrical and industrial distributors with over 700 locations and coverage in all 50 states.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a business analyst to join our Vendor Relations team, supporting the ongoing analysis and reporting efforts for Sonepar US Operating company’s relationship & performance with our strategic vendors. The right person will have a strong analytics background with equal parts technical and communication skills. Duties require broad conceptual judgment, quantitative thinking, strong initiative, and ability to deal with complex business and financial problems.


  • Collaborate with Product Strategy Managers and manage process flow and reporting
  • Communicate findings and recommendations across multiple levels of the organization
  • Assist in managing existing strategic vendor relationships
  • Work with Vendors on program performance
  • Participate in cross-functional teams
  • Conduct vendor analytics & research and support strategic planning across entire company
  • Conducting analyses & makes recommendations for improving existing processes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Manage multiple projects and exhibit effective organization
  • Foster communication within Vendor Relations, Marketing and IT Teams and with other departments, and with management
  • Develop a deep understanding of the electrical supplies market and actively remains current with industry standards, trends, and competitive intelligence on vendor management best practices
  • Maintain knowledge & support company policies and management decisions with a sense of urgency and professionalism


  • Bachelor’s degree with quantitative major such as finance, math, applied math, engineering or data science
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Access is a plus
  • Experience with Cognos, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools is a plus
  • Consistent track record in using quantitative analysis to drive market and/or business decisions
  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills
  • Must be comfortable meeting with, presenting to, and supporting all levels of staff
  • Experience supporting sales or operations functions is a plus
  • Experience manipulating data warehouses as a resource for analytical work and Excel Reporting is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time on an as needed basis
