The job of an EDI Specialist consists of coordinating and maintaining the electronic data interchange between Sonepar USA, Irby and trading partners. Also, responsible for recommending changes to the existing system and operating procedures with goal of improving overall productivity while driving down costs and maximizing profits.

Job Responsibilities 

The job responsibilities the EDI Specialist include undertaking tasks for efficient functioning of electronic data interchange. The other job responsibilities of the EDI Specialist will be as follows:

  • Clearly articulate the business process and technical needs for new integrations and project mange those integrations
  • Work with SUSA Program Manager to prioritize new relationship needs and outline requirements
  • Configure trading partner profiles and customer / vendor configurations
  • Test the integration and business process flow to ensure requirements were met
  • Maintain VMI/DMI relationships including on-going oversight during set-up and lifetime maintenance
  • Improve EDI rebate processes moving towards automating Vendor data into Irby product, pricing, and rebate systems
  • Understand Eclipse and its processes that support e-commerce
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Liason Platform and integrate with existing internal/external processes
  • Gain a thorough understanding of 3rd party platforms such as Ariba, Coopa, et al and maintain internal/external processes for integration with Customers
  • Oversee Conexiom/eLink customer integration and monitor third party portal for error corrections when necessary
  • Prepare and maintain related databases for the electronic data interchange
  • Monitor effectiveness and accuracy of all EDI integrations
  • Undertake security procedures for the safety of EDI
  • Coordinate with the Irby and Sonepar IT staff
  • First line of support for users and trading partners on EDI integration questions
  • In addition to new customer set-ups, monitor and maintain third party integration portals.
  • Manage Web Admin console activities and support general help desk duties.
