Inventory Analyst/Buyer

Summary:

This position performs analytical and technical duties involving the ordering, processing and distribution of electrical materials. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinates, facilitates and maintains data integrity within the Utility Supply Chain
  • Maintains inventory data integrity and tracks accuracy of inventory
  • Researches root cause of systematic issues resulting in low available inventories, inventory stock outs and customer service levels
  • Establish and maintain necessary stocking levels based on inventory item demand and trends
  • Engage with Suppliers, Operations and sales team on inventory forecasting and future trending
  • Performs extensive analysis of inventory data, reports and makes appropriate recommendations regarding inventories
  • Profile branch inventories and review with branch and sales team
  • Coordinate Utility Hub & Spoke purchasing
  • Monitor transfers and take appropriate actions for modifications and enhancements to inventory levels
  • Coordinates utility supply chain activity with I/S department as it relates to inventory
  • Communicate regularly with Branch Managers and Purchasing Agents on purchasing issues, problems and/or successes
  • Ensures accurate, complete records are kept regarding consumption, cost, selling price, stock levels and other data
  • Analyze and research problems, obstacles, trends, changes and recommend appropriate modifications/changes to enhance or improve system integrity
  • Recommends and develops strategies related to utility inventory integrity
  • Responsible for the supplier procurement functions and management of line

 Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the standard methods, practices and procedures employed in the acquisition of inventory items
  • Knowledge of inventory maintenance and control
  • Knowledge of purchasing and requisitioning practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of records keeping as employed in an inventory operation
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Ability to effectively communicate and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to formulate and present recommendations and implement methods
  • Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and at least four years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience
