The Opportunity

You will be a part of the Vallen Innovation Program and a member of the Application Specialist team. You will be supporting an existing base of customers and working with Vallen Integrated Solution Managers, National Account Managers and Account Reps key to developed solutions, customer specifications, drive demand and deliver continuous improvement cost savings. 

We have multiple openings within 3 major categories: 

  • Power tools, assembly tools, and tool storage systems
  • Metalworking, cutting tools and metal cutting fluids and lubricants
  • Industrial MRO products with emphasis on abrasives, tapes and adhesives

Location/Travel: This position is home office based and requires 60-80% travel. Close proximity to major US airports required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a written business plan outlining goals and measurable objectives.
  • Present to both internal and external customers.
  • Travel to existing Vallen Fortune 100 manufacturing locations and provide solutions to drive productivity savings and business growth.
  • Double digit growth and double digit cost savings for assigned application category.
  • Provides customers with solutions that reduce costs or increase efficiency.
  • Work closely with Vallen supplier(s) to maintain build application expertise in assigned category.
  • Provide monthly sales and cost savings reports
Required Skills

Qualifications & Benefits

  • Minimum of 5 years power tool and/or assembly tool manufacturer or distribution experience preferred.
  • Previous field sales experience with power tools and/or assembly tools is preferred
  • Successful candidate will be competitive, organized, detailed oriented and capable of developing and documenting processes and solutions to help customers improve their plant operations.  
  • Business analysis experience and the ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities are required
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent work experience is required.
  • Understanding and awareness of major power tool and hand/assembly brands and applications, and the ability to distinguish market offers and capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills plus the ability to conduct effective meetings.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced, performance driven and results oriented environment.  
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
