Job Description

Viking Electric Supply is hiring a Project Manager to join our Project Sales Team in Minneapolis, Minnesota

As a project manager for Viking, the objective is to increase our large project business through proper planning, organization and execution of assigned projects while meeting specific deadlines and customer needs.

Some of the responsibilities of this role are:

  • Work with the Quotations team to understand the requirements of the project to ensure a smooth transition with the customer and that work proceeds according to project specifications
  • Manage customer orders from time purchase order is secured through acknowledgment to final billing including drawings, expediting, change orders and billing resolution.
  • Organize and manage project documentation in such a way that it is accessible to all relevant parties. Continually develop and improve processes that enhance the customer experience.
  • Resolve all disputes associated with issues as they arise throughout the project process. Work with customers, vendors and other Viking departments to proactively resolve problems.
  • Constantly monitor and report on the progress of a project to all stakeholders.
  • At completion of the project, prepare job recap conduct a meeting with relevant parties to evaluate the whole project and discuss results and opportunities for improvement.
  • Foster and maintain positive, effective business relationships with internal and external Viking customers and other third parties at all levels and project phases.
  • Provide leadership in promoting fair and honest dealings with suppliers. Manage vendor relationships to benefit Viking, our customers and the suppliers.
  • Work with the Project Sales Specialists to provide support to meet important project bidding deadlines when necessary.

Required Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in the electrical industry is preferred
  • Should be familiar with electrical codes
  • Should have a working knowledge of design process and techniques.  
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, Outlook, and Adobe.
