This position plans and organizes the on-going development of the rebate department and obtain solutions for department problems.  Administer vendor rebate department to include, but not limited to (i.e., establish procedures, set up tickler files, receive and review for proper documentation). 



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze workflow.
  • Act as liaison for Rebate Department to Branch Managers, Pricing and Inventory Manager, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable.
  • Develop new strategies in processing claims and pricing rebate contracts.
  • Work with Corporate Sales on National Contracts and the State of MS Bids, including attend the bid process.
  • Negotiate better service with vendors in handling pricing and claims.
  • Report issues of concern to Controller regarding I/S, Branch difficulties, etc.
  • Responsible for Vendor Audits.
  • Monitor Vendor Statements with Accounts Payable.
  • Develop EDI process for filing claims.
  • Analyze inventory shortages that relate to rebates with assistance from the Controller.
  • Train new employees.
  • Complete and conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Prepare periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, schedules, and rejected items.
  • Aid in organizational planning by participating in departmental conferences.
Required Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
  • Work confidentially with discretion.
  • Superior knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong accounting background desired
Required Experience

  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
