Regional DC Manager

Understanding of business and management principles, leadership strategies and planning to effectively manage the regional distribution center. This position will manage and is accountable for Distribution Center and the associates on site.

• Manages P&L for multiple functions effectively
• Leads and coordinates multi shift management team including receiving, inventory control, shipping, transfers 3PL delivery workers
• Ability to manage leaders, build team and communicate effectively
• Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Assess service alternatives for delivery and implement standardized methodology for cost-efficient delivery meeting desired time frame
• Develop methods to minimize errors while maintaining or improving productivity
• Prepare DC staffing plan based on forecasted volume

• College degree preferred with 2+ years or more directly related experience and/or training
• 10+ years’ experience in a Distribution Center environment
• 5+ years’ experience leading, coaching, and developing other management personnel
• Inventory control/management experience a must
• Previous Managerial experience in warehouse roles: delivery, shipping, order selecting and picking/packing
• Familiar with Wire vendors and management a plus
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• Experience with RF scanning
• Experience with 5S or Lean highly desired
• Safety experience highly desired
• Project management experience
• Experience in quality standards
• PIT proficiency; reach truck, order picker, “sit down” propane. Current certification a plus
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small parts
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have strong mathematic skills
• Must be a “Hands-on” working manager
