GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Regional VP of Finance is responsible for providing financial and operational leadership to the Sonepar US operating companies in the region they serve.   They are instrumental in driving operating company financial performance and key corporate initiatives while ensuring compliance with Sonepar guidelines.  This position reports directly to both the Sonepar USA CFO and the Regional President for the West Region and has oversight of the business finance leaders of the operating companies in the region.

BUSINESS LEADER SUPPORT:

Support Business Leaders with Key Financial Decisions including:

  • Set Strategy and Direction – active participation in assisting the operating company in developing strategies and initiatives to accomplish the company’s long-term growth and profit goals
  • Support Business Unit leadership in their decision making through analysis and review of
    • Acquisitions
    • Branch Openings/Closings
    • Relocations and lease renewals
    • Capital expenditures
    • Large customer deals
  • Operating performance analysis highlighting areas for improvement and areas to accelerate current favorable performance – being part of the solution
  • Customer segmentation and profitability reviews / sales support
  • Variable compensation analysis support
  • Review/input for all internal audit reports

 

FINANCE LEADER SUPPORT:

Manage and support Business Finance Leaders in their duties including:

  • Provide support for Business Finance Leaders through review and constructive input:
    • Budget and forecasting
    • Financial analysis of pending decisions
    • Internal control assessments
    • Accounting and finance decisions
  • Performance reviews and expectations/incentives
  • New Hire recruiting/training and succession planning
  • Shared Service interaction/consultation support
  • Coordinate external audit inclusive of physical inventory
  • Eclipse support / training when needed

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategy/Planning and Executive Management Team support
  • Attending Business Leader/Finance/Board meetings as needed
  • Developing and sharing of best-practices

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 12 years operational/financial management, with experience in distribution industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University, in Accounting/Finance; CPA and knowledge of IFRS a plus
  • Salt Lake City is highly preferred
