The Opportunity

Vallen is seeking an experienced Market Sales Manager to focus on increasing sales of Industrial, Metal Working & Safety MRO and OEM products and services.  Vallen Market Sales Managers have the opportunity to work with some of the most tenured sales teams in the business and are encouraged to be true resources for our customers and internal sales teams by establishing long lasting relationships.  Our Market Sales Managers will work with the support of a true team environment from our Customer Service Representatives and Account Representatives to our Operations team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Total responsibility for all Industrial business in designated market
  • Responsible for market performance in areas of sales, gross margin, market share growth and customer service metrics
  • Attracts, hire, develop and train assigned market sales personnel
  • Establish and maintain effective supplier relationships
  • Achieve sales and gross margin growth for all products in assigned market
  • Implement Vallen sales and marketing strategies
  • Improve Vallen profitability year over year
  • Meet or exceed customer KPI’s of market customers
  • Drive market profitability in support of region and Vallen goals
  • Responsible for sales force productivity by ensuring appropriate coaching and development of all sales personnel

This position will cover the Southeastern Michigan market including Lansing, Saginaw, Detroit and down to the board of MI and OH.

Qualifications and Benefits

  • 10+ years of sales experience in the industrial distribution industry.
  • Experience leading an outside sales team is required
  • Knowledge of Safety and Industrial products and services is desired
  • Experience using a CRM to drive performance
  • P&L management is desired
  • Strong with client follow up, organizational skills, & excellent communication skills required.
  • Bachelor Degree preferred
