Could you be our next Service Technician Superstar?


The Opportunity

You will conduct service calls and system testing and inspections to prescribed standards. You will perform onsite emergency trouble shooting and maintain customer’s Life Safety Systems. You will identify code issues and prepare accurate and timely technician worksheets (TWS) and reports. You will install and provide customer service in the area of installation and/or ITM of Life Safety Systems including but not limited to Fire Extinguishers, Fire Alarm, Fire Hose, and Detection Systems, Gas Detection Systems, SCB, Form Systems, Dry Chemical Systems, Clean Agent Systems, Special Hazard Systems and Water Based Systems. You will be responsible for providing the testing and repair documentation and ensuring it is filled out accurately, completely and turned in for proper invoices. You will need basic knowledge of regulatory standards pertaining to assigned duties; i.e., State, OSHA and NFPA regulations. You will assist with shipping and receiving supporting the team when necessary.

Qualifications & Benefits

        • Minimum 2 Certification (manufacturing/state) ) in a fire protection related field
        • Minimum 1 - 3 year related experience
        • Mechanically inclined
        • Experience in the installation and/or maintenance, repair and service of life safety systems and equipment.
        • Ability to repair and service equipment sold by Vallen.
        • Current Motor Vehicle License with good driving record.
        • Commercial Driver’s License required if carrying loads of hazardous materials.
        • Proficient with hand tools.
        • Able to complete repairs and maintenance of equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
        • Able to provide assistance, advice and training to Vallen associates and plant personnel.
        • Assist warehouse personnel with order fulfillment if needed.
        • Maintain minimum productivity of 80% within 60 days.
        • Keep all certifications and licenses current and renewed by completing continuing education as required.
        • Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process and quality instructions).
        • Must pass Drug & Alcohol screen, Physical exam, and background check.
