Unclaimed Property Coordinator

Position Summary:

Sonepar USA Unclaimed Property Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and documenting processes related to unclaimed property. A UP Coordinator will prepare and process State UCP filings, recover Sonepar USA property from state entities, work with third party advocates to comply with Sonepar USA property escheatment policy and review internal reports to identify UCP items. This position requires heavy research skills as well as effective communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather data meeting policy standards by property type by OPCO
  • Communicate to OPCOs data discovered for potential UP research/reconciliation
  • Gather and compile research findings from OPCOs for future UCP state filings
  • Update and maintain UP property tracking worksheet per OPCO per property type
  • File and maintain evidence of monthly, quarterly, or yearly UCP state filings
  • Work with third party advocate to comply with escheatment of funds belonging to Sonepar USA OPCOs
  • Maintain knowledge of state escheatment guidelines
  • Work with appropriate property owners in Sonepar USA as needed
  • Monitor and maintain UCP PO Box for letter responses prior to UCP state filings

Qualifications:

  • Finance or Accounts Receivable background preferred
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products; strong Excel skills a must
  • Experience with Eclipse ERP a strong plus
  • Ability to multi-task and willingness to learn and apply new skills
  • Work independently without close supervision
  • Excellent communicator and customer service skills both verbal and written
  • Detail orientated, strong organizational skills and ability to comply with strict deadlines
  • Comfortable working with all levels in the organization from HR and Credit to Senior Leadership
  • Good judgment and follow-up
  • Self-motivator
