Position Summary:

Enhance and develop an on-going administration of departmental audits to test the effectiveness of current business controls, policies and procedures that set the framework for the management and safeguarding of corporate assets comprised of inventory. Provide value adding reporting, technical, analytical and consulting services in the formulation and implementation of increased & improved controls, policies and procedures based on appropriately supported audit findings, or deemed generally beneficial.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Include the following; other duties may be assigned)

  • Effectively document the results of all audits to ensure that conclusions and findings are properly supported.
  • Assess risks and recommend mitigation strategies through the evaluation of the business environment and an increase in business controls.
  • Represent departmental and Company interests by serving as liaison between the Utility side of the business and other internal and external entities.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned

  Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration;
  • Advanced degree(s) and professional certification(s) such as CPA, CIA, etc. are desirable.
  • 3+ years of previous experience in Materials Management or closely related field, knowledge of supply chain, purchasing principles, statistical process control, cycle-counting and use/understanding of ERP systems such as SAP, SQL, MS Dynamics, etc. is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Eclipse ERP system is preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills
  • Exceptional analytical ability and acumen in the areas of Finance, Warehousing, Supply Chain and other fields, to develop cost effective recommendations on operational control issues
  • Ability to enhance & develop a high-quality audit program, implement the audit program, discuss audit findings in a satisfactory manner with the audit client and to generate/write a quality audit report
  • Good knowledge of financial, operational and management practices and auditing techniques.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement
  • Must demonstrate exemplary time management skills
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively on multiple projects
  • Highly ethical with strong initiative
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills
  • Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, includes macro development as needed, with proficiency in the use of the MS suite of products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Working Environment:

  • Long hours may be required on occasion
  • Typical office environment with frequent visits to the Warehouse for auditing purposes. The Warehouse can be a dusty environment prone to extreme hot/cold temperatures.


  • Occasional out of area air/ground travel & overnight stays
  • % of travel time required: 10%  

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance. The employee will frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
