Position Summary:

Sells products for various manufacturers to contractors and Utility users. Work with the Inside Sales and Fields Sales team to grow sales with existing and new customers. May act as a liaison between customers and the dedicated Field Sales Representative by providing pricing, availability and any required customer service to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming sales calls for all customers
  • Input orders, manage any & all customer service related functions
  • Responsible for complete order management, including expediting and communication with the customer.
  • Sales order entry and purchasing of customer requirements for specific price lines
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for FSR’s in the following areas
  • Obtain quotations from manufacture
  • Create and maintain a detailed record for each project
  • Provides quotations to customers
  • Performs order entry and checks status to confirm lead times and availability
  • Coordinates shipments of material to meet with customers schedule and time constraints
  • Set up Job Accounts for projects
  • Confirms that all billing is handled correctly
  • Coordinates with warehouse to manage stored materials for a project when needed and arranges delivery of these materials
  • Report lost sales
  • Write credits in a timely manner as well as returns. Handles all damages, incorrect material and errors
  • Attend product and training sessions
  • Develop strong vendor relationships
  • Organize and maintain product catalog library
  • Develop superior product knowledge and assist customers with product application
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned
Required Skills


Education and/or Experience: 

  • Electrical, Utility and/or Distribution experience preferred but not required
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.; or
  • 1 - 3 years' of related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with little supervision
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills
  • Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner

  • Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management
  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word and Outlook
  • Strong Excel skills preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent phone etiquette & organization skills

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance.
