Position Summary:

The Vice President of Industrial Sales oversees all functions of the assigned regions to provide acceptable return on controllable assets while improving market share on a consistent and regular basis.  Manage a team of Sales Leaders responsible for selling products for various manufacturers or distributors to customers. Generate and drive overall sales strategy for the market segment. Manage Sales Leaders, oversee multiple branch P&Ls and own overall sales strategies for the various customers and market segments. Actively participate in the development of our various manufacturer partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Include the following; other duties may be assigned)

  • Drive Sales and Margin growth of the assigned Region
  • Support and drive the development of the Company business strategy (i.e. customer-segmented approach, collaborative, value-add propositions)
  • Assist Finance in exercising OneSource policies as they pertain to the extension of credit, the collection of accounts receivable, the attainment of acceptable days outstanding, and the minimization of potential losses
  • Embody personal leadership qualities through the following: Be in the moment to ensure authentic and humanistic interactions.   • Provide clear and specific expectations to direct reports; set mutually agreed upon goals annually for each team member through an interactive process. Conduct periodic check-ins to provide meaningful performance feedback and guidance in relation to their performance to goal. Support team development through talent planning efforts in partnership with HR. Recognize succession needs, identify potential successors and manage development plans to ensure preparedness for succession activities.

  • Own the business by reviewing monthly Sales performance as it relates to overall Sales goals, make decisions according to the strategy and drive the direction
  • Own, drive and support the personnel development plans for the region
  • Survey new potential accounts and existing accounts on a regular basis
  • Ensure a sufficient sales opportunity funnel for at least 3 opportunity types: Rockwell, Key Partners and Large Opportunities
  • Develop strong vendor relationships
  • Analyze changes in market conditions as they apply to the market
  • Develop good working relationships with Executive level team
  • Continuous development of customer relationships at an Executive level at large and/or key target accounts, including making sales calls and other customer facing activities.
  • Develop annual budget and manage overall P&L
  • Develop and maintain customer, partner and supplier intimacy
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners and suppliers in a purposeful and disciplined manner.
  • Perform a disciplined and demonstrated accountability process (monthly reviews) with Field Sales, Inside Sales and Product Managers to ensure active plans that support the Company strategy
  • Conduct regularly scheduled team meetings
Required Skills


Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university;
  • 10+ years' of experience in managing professionals, preferably in Sales Management;
  • Multiple location responsibility; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills
  • Must possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork, leadership and flexibility.
  • Sales ability, financial aptitude, strong leadership and strong people skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
